What to expect on your first lesson

Small Class Sizes

Our lessons are capped at 4 students maximum for all of our Beginner and Intermediate levels. This allows us to give your child the necessary attention they need to maximise their potential.

Saltwater Magnesium Filtration

Combining Saltwater with Potassium and Magnesium minerals, our cutting edge pool filtration system ensures only the highest in water quality. Heated to a perfect 32 degrees all year round, our pool is great for allergies and is gentle on the skin.

On Going Assessments

Live updates of your child’s progress can be viewed through your customer portal allowing you to have a greater understanding of what they have achieved to-date and what they need to achieve to reach the next level.

Your child’s complimentary first assessment session is a gentle introduction where our instructors will assess their skills and confidence in the water, ensuring they are placed in the level where they will thrive and get the most out of their swimming journey. During this visit, our team will also explain what to expect from your time with us, including our structured program, complimentary Splash & Play sessions to build confidence outside of lessons, and how to use our customer portal to manage bookings and track your child’s progress.

I have read and fully understand the Terms & Conditions for enrolling and participating in Saltwater Swim Schools (“SWSS”) programs and activities. I agree to abide by the Medical Authority and Indemnity of enrolment, and all conditions as noted below: *

General

Children who are not fully toilet trained must wear aqua nappies in the pool.
Students are to refrain from entering the designated lesson area until lesson/activity commencement.
Children must be supervised by a responsible adult/carer whilst at any SWSS facilities. Full parental/carer supervision is required for all participants during all classes/activities.
All equipment and facilities are used at your own risk
All school age children are required to use their gender bathroom, alternatively we have family/gender neutral facilities available for your convenience
SWSS follow a behaviour policy within our program. Our staff provide one warning to swimmers for disruptive or unsafe behaviour. A second warning will result in sitting out of the pool. If the behaviour continues you may be removed from class/activity immediately.
Our staff are here to do the best they can to assist and accommodate you. Rude or disrespectful behaviour will not be tolerated.
SWSS aim to maintain consistency each term, but may sometimes need to move students, change instructors if the need arises
All participants are to be aware of pool depths which are highlighted on pool deck.
As a respect of privacy, no photos or videos are to be taken within the pool or change room facilities without management and other participants authorisation.
To prevent the spread of cryptosporidium and illness, if a child has suffered from gastro, vomiting or stomach upsets please keep them home from swimming, and we will attempt to find make up classes for them when they are well.

Learn to Swim

Enrolments are secured once your direct debit has been activated (and payment processed) and/or otherwise paid in full by the due date for each term.
In the event of enrolment cancellation after the Term has commenced, a cancelation fee equal to 2 lessons will be charged and is non-refundable.
As a courtesy, SWSS offers 2 make-up classes per term, these are non-refundable or transferable and expire at the end of each term. A detailed policy on make-ups is located on our website Policies and is also viewable in your customer portal.

Holiday Intensives

Fees are payable up front prior to commencement of the Holiday Program to lock in and conﬁrm spots.
Bookings can be cancelled at any time prior to the Holiday Program commencement date.
In the event of enrolment cancellation after the program has commenced, a cancellation fee equal to 2 lessons will be charged and is non-refundable.
Make-up lessons and credits are not applicable during the Holiday Program. If you are absent during the program, you forfeit your lesson.

Aqua Aerobics

Casual attendance of this activity will require a signed waiver form to be completed. Payment is to be made prior to joining the class.
An enrolment form must be completed in full for multi pass purchases.
A pass can only be purchased once paid for.
Multi passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and expire 12 months from the date of purchase.
Children aged 16 years or under must be accompanied by an adult whilst attending Aqua Aerobics classes.

Lap Swimming

Casual attendance of this activity will require prepayment on the day and a signed waiver form to be completed.
An enrolment form must be completed in full for a multi pass purchase for Lap Swimming.
Purchases of any multi passes are non-refundable, non-transferable and expire 12 months from the date of purchase.

Agreement (please read carefully)

COMPLETE AGREEMENT AND SEVERABILITY
The terms of this Agreement constitute the full agreement between you/the participant and SWSS, and no oral promises are made part thereof. If any part of this Agreement is deemed to be invalid or unenforceable by law, the provisions will be deleted from the Agreement, but such deletion will not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.

MEDICAL RELEASE
I consent for the staff at SWSS to provide medical assistance as deemed necessary in the event of any illness or accident which may occur whilst attending the swimming school and agree to meet any medical expenses incurred.

WAIVER AND RELEASE

During all such times that you are on SWSS premises, both your property and your person shall be at your own risk. You agree that SWSS shall not be liable for any loss, damage of theft of any property belonging to you or your guest (including minors) occurring on SWSS premises except where caused by gross negligence of SWSS. Additionally, SWSS shall not be liable for any death, personal Injury or illness occurring to you or your guest (including minors) on SWSS premises or as a result of the use of any facilities or equipment provided by SWSS, except to the extent that such death, personal injury or illness occurs from the gross negligence of SWSS.

Assessment and Class Placement Policy

Assessments are conducted by our On-Deck Coordinators to determine your child’s current skill level and the most suitable class placement.

Based on the outcome of the assessment, your child may be placed in a different level than originally requested. This may also result in a change to the class day or time. Any changes to level or schedule will be made in accordance with the program structure and will be subject to class availability.

By participating in the assessment process, you acknowledge and agree that final class placement is determined by our On-Deck Coordinators and may be adjusted as needed to ensure the best learning environment for your child.

What a fantastic place! The staff here are absolutely amazing — so friendly, calm, and incredibly patient with the kids. They really take the time to make each child feel comfortable and confident. We’ve been attending since opening and love the swim school for our child, especially having no chlorine and warm temperatures year round. Our child has grown in confidence and most importantly enjoys coming to classes. The instructors and entire staff team are genuinely lovely people and very good at their respective roles. The facilities are spotlessly clean and well maintained. We also really appreciate their flexibility with make-up classes when things don’t go to plan and are unable to attend. Both my daughters swim at Armstrong Creek Saltwater Swim School and it’s hands-down the best we’ve tried in Geelong.and we’ve tried a few! The instructors are highly skilledand while they’re definitely firm, it’s in the best way. They focus on teaching proper swimming skills instead of spending the whole lesson diving for sinkies at the bottom of the pool. The kids actually learn to swim. The girls love it, are making great progress, and they come out of the water not smelling like a public pool, which is a huge bonus. Highly recommend!
